How do I Provide Proof of Tax Exemption for My Order?

In this short video, we will show you how to upload your proof of tax exemption and update your order with your tax-free status.

Step 1

Make sure you are logged into your account at stickeryou.com. Then navigate to your shopping cart. You must first provide us with your shipping address, name, and email. This information must match the details on your documents so we can verify your tax-exempt status.

Step 2

Below the "Proceed to Payment" button, click "Click here to submit a tax exemption certificate."

Step 3

Accept Avalara's terms and conditions. Then click "Add an Exemption Certificate". 

Step 4

Next, select the type of documentation you want to provide by choosing your State and tax-exempt reason. 

Step 5

In most cases, you will need to upload a copy of the file in PDF format. Click the "Upload" button to proceed, then drag and drop your file onto the page or click "Browse instead" to select the file from your device's file system.
Some states and tax-exempt reasons require forms that can be filled out directly through Avalara. If this is the case, for you, follow the on-screen instructions to provide the required information.

Step 6

Once you have submitted your document and received confirmation, you can return to the StickerYou website. You will see a message when returning to the tab notifying you that it may take a few minutes to register that the tax exemption status has been applied. 

Step 7

Close the pop-up and click the "Update Tax Rate". Once you see that no tax has been charged, you can proceed to check out.
